Ella Langley Retakes No. 1 on Hot 100 With Record 25th Week
Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas" takes back the top spot from Taylor Swift's "Patient Zero". Tate McRae, Olivia Rodrigo with Chappell Roan, and Zach Bryan with Lana Del Rey enter at Nos. 2 to 4.
Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas" is back at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a record 25th week. It replaces Taylor Swift's "Patient Zero," which had led the chart in its first three weeks and now drops to No. 5.
Langley's song totalled 20 million official streams, up 1% on the week before, and 58.6 million radio airplay audience impressions, essentially even. It also sold 4,000 copies, down 17%, in the United States from Oct. 16 to 22.
Records and runs
This is the song's seventh separate stay at the top, which extends its mark for the most distinct No. 1 runs from a single release cycle. Its earlier stints were on the charts dated Feb. 14, March 7, March 21-28, April 11-25, May 9-23, and July 4 through Oct. 3.
Billboard ranks the song first among the longest-leading Hot 100 hits. Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" follows with 22 weeks, ahead of Shaboozey's "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" and Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" at 19 each.
Three new entries
Tate McRae's "Housewife" debuts at No. 2 with 22.9 million streams and 12.7 million in airplay audience. It opens at No. 1 on Streaming Songs. That is McRae's fourth Hot 100 top 10 and her highest chart position as a lead artist.
Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan's "Expectations" jumps from No. 63 to No. 3. Rodrigo released the song solo in June, and the remix with Roan arrived Oct. 15.
Zach Bryan's "Lies," featuring Lana Del Rey, enters at No. 4 with 19.6 million streams and 5,000 sold. It comes from Bryan's eight-song set "Young Manhood and Other Donatable Organs" and opens at No. 1 on Digital Song Sales.
Rest of the top 10
Swift's "Patient Zero" is still the top seller of the week, with 26,000 physical sales and 4,000 downloads. Stella Lefty's "Boston" falls to No. 6 and Morgan Wallen's "Been by Now" to No. 7. Tame Impala and Jennie's "Dracula" sits at No. 8, Adela's "Nicole Kidman" at No. 9, and Rodrigo's "Stupid Song" at No. 10.
