The exit-planning franchise Exit Factor has opened in Huntsville, Alabama. The office is owned by Marty and Penny Ferdig, whose careers span the U.S. Army, defense logistics and nonprofit program management.
Exit Factor, a business consulting franchise focused on exit planning for small and mid-sized companies, has opened a location in Huntsville, Alabama. The opening was announced on October 13, 2026. The new office, Exit Factor of Huntsville, is owned and operated by Marty and Penny Ferdig, who are husband and wife.
Who runs the Huntsville office
Between them the Ferdigs count more than 70 years of experience in leadership and service. Marty Ferdig spent over 35 years in the U.S. Army and in executive roles in defense industry logistics and program management. Penny Ferdig was a military spouse throughout that period and worked as a program manager in the nonprofit sector. The couple say their careers have been about service and strategic execution, and that they now want to help local owners streamline operations, raise the value of their companies and handle each stage of a business's life.
What the program does
Exit Factor builds an individual exit plan for each client. The idea is that an owner should work on profit, efficiency and value from the start, even when selling is not an immediate goal, so the company is worth more whenever a sale or handover does come. The franchise delivers this through one-on-one consulting and online programs. It cites its own results: participants gain on average $2,700 in exit value for every hour spent in the program, and within the first year clients have recorded a 25% rise in profit and a 56.7% rise in business value.
The company was founded by Jessica Fialkovich, an author and speaker who previously worked as a business broker and owned a Transworld Business Advisors franchise. She developed the program for businesses that were not yet ready to be listed or could increase their value before a sale, teaching ways to improve value, profitability and salability. Fialkovich said she looks forward to the Ferdigs helping more owners. Exit Factor belongs to the United Franchise Group family of brands.
