Just Women's Sports Buys Victra Sports and Releases an App

Sports ·

Just Women's Sports has acquired the technology company Victra Sports, launched a mobile app built on its software and opened separate brands for basketball and soccer.

Los Angeles media company Just Women's Sports (JWS) announced three steps on October 13, 2026: it has acquired Victra Sports, a technology company focused on women's sports, released a mobile app, and created two brands devoted to single sports, basketball and soccer. The company frames the moves as a shift from being a media outlet toward providing digital infrastructure for women's sports fans.

An app built on acquired technology

The JWS app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play. It offers live scores, schedules, statistics, personal accounts and push notifications alongside the company's own articles and video. The underlying technology comes from Victra Sports, founded by Haro Trenkler and Anna Malepeai. According to JWS, the app pairs its content and scoreboard with real-time statistics and analytics rather than simply collecting data that can be found elsewhere. JWS says it reaches more than 115 million people a month across digital and social platforms and has over 6 million followers of its own; its stated aim is to bring in the next 10 million fans.

Founder and chief executive Haley Rosen said more people than ever can watch the games, yet the digital side has not kept pace with the industry's growth, and that after years of building an audience the company is now building what that audience needs.

Separate brands for basketball and soccer

The two new brands are called Just Women's Hoops and Just Women's Football. Each gets its own editorial voice, programming and community. JWS contrasts this with established sports media, where women's sports sections have usually been set up inside brands organised around men's sports. Rosen argued that other platforms treat women's sports "as a single bucket". The announcements close a year in which JWS also secured new funding, was named an official Emerging Media Partner by the WNBA, deepened its partnership with the NWSL and worked with Monarch Commerce to rebuild its merchandise store.
