Flesh Crowned Last Ever Winner of Drag Race UK
Flesh from London beat Mocha and Naya Thorn in the finale of season eight, the final series of the show.
Flesh from London has won RuPaul's Drag Race UK season eight. Because the show is ending, hers is the last crown it will ever hand out.
A winner's delight
Flesh was overjoyed. She said she was over the moon, asked RuPaul where her cheque was, and called being there with Bones the perfect moment. She told viewers it was everything she had dreamed of and more, and that she was proud of herself.
The handover itself carried weight. RuPaul declared Flesh the winner, and Bones, the season seven champion, gave the crown and scepter to the final reigning queen.
The lip sync that decided it
Alik was voted off, narrowing four queens to three. Flesh, Mocha and Naya Thorn then lip synced for the crown. A lip sync on the show is a head-to-head performance to a song, and it decides who stays.
Finale night
The season eight queens walked the catwalk one last time, for the season and for the whole show. They performed a number with the four finalists to celebrate what the show has built. Michelle Visage, Alan Carr and Graham Norton judged alongside RuPaul. The eliminated queens and Bones were in the room.
The finalists' last challenge was a mega mix of the show's best-known girl group songs, choreographed by Claudimar Neto. The four were Naya Thorn from Dudley, Alik from Brighton, Mocha from Essex and Flesh from London. Twelve queens had entered the werkroom ten weeks earlier.
A series that ran from 2019
The spin-off began in 2019 and brought 91 queens from across the UK and Ireland to the screen. In September it was announced that season eight would be the last. The winner receives £25,000.
