Kia Holds 2027 EV6 Prices as EV3 Starts at $29,890

Automotive ·

The 2027 EV6 keeps last year's prices from $37,900, about $8,000 above the new EV3, which has less range on its base trim.

Kia's 2027 EV6 goes on sale as a carryover model with no price changes on any trim. A few months ago Kia cut prices on the 2026 model year by $5,000, and those levels stay.

The base EV6 Light standard-range rear-wheel-drive model starts at $37,900, plus a $1,545 destination fee. Its 63 kWh battery gives up to 237 miles of range. The Light long-range version costs $3,300 more, from $41,200, and its 84 kWh battery gives up to 319 miles. All-wheel-drive EV6 models get up to 295 miles, and the top GT-Line AWD up to 270 miles.

The EV3 as the cheaper option

The 2027 Kia EV3 starts at $29,890, about $8,000 below the EV6. It comes in five trims: Light, Wind, Land, GT-Line and GT. The cheapest, the Light front-wheel-drive, has a 58.3 kWh battery and an EPA-estimated range of up to 221 miles. The other four use an 81.4 kWh battery rated up to 321 miles. Like the EV6, the EV3 is offered with front-wheel or all-wheel drive.

Kia said that with the EV6 price unchanged and the EV3 launching, it is "making EVs more attainable for those who embrace the fully electric lifestyle."

Both cars use Kia's ccNC infotainment system, with nearly 30 inches of screen space made up of dual 12.3-inch instrument and navigation displays and a 5-inch climate touchscreen. Both have a native NACS port, so owners can use Tesla Superchargers without an adapter.

The EV6 runs on an 800V architecture and the EV3 on 400V. The EV6 can charge from 10% to 80% in about 18 minutes, against about 30 minutes for the EV3. The EV6 is also bigger: 184.8 inches long, 74 wide and 60.8 tall on a 114.2-inch wheelbase, against 169.3, 72.8 and 62 inches on a 105.5-inch wheelbase for the EV3.
