Central Finland Picks Tieto Caretech System for Social Care
The wellbeing services county of Central Finland has selected Tieto Caretech's Lifecare EHR Social Care as its client information system. Deployment is planned for spring 2027 and will put the whole county on one system.
The wellbeing services county of Central Finland has selected Lifecare EHR Social Care from Tieto Caretech as the client information system for its social care services. The software will be delivered across the entire county. Once it is in place, Central Finland will have a single client information system for social care instead of separate ones.
What the system is for
Lifecare EHR, short for electronic health record, is designed to support social care professionals in their everyday work and to let information move smoothly between the various stakeholders and service providers involved in a client's care. Jani Rahko, director of Lifecare EHR at Tieto Caretech, said the company is delighted that Central Finland is deepening its cooperation with the supplier. He described the product as a modern and comprehensive tool that helps organizations and staff plan, deliver and monitor services, and that also gives residents of the county an accessible way to deal with services digitally.
A goal since the county was formed
Ari-Pekka Paananen, chief information officer of the wellbeing services county, said that a unified client information system has been a key objective from the county's early days and that the goal has now been reached. He added that the county is very pleased to have a system that meets its requirements, and that social care staff will receive the shared system early next year. The deployment itself is scheduled for spring 2027 and will be carried out in close cooperation between the supplier and the county.
Central Finland's wellbeing services county provides public health and social care to roughly 273,000 residents and has around 12,500 professionals on staff. Tieto Caretech develops software for health and social care; the company has Nordic roots and a growing presence elsewhere in Europe, and says its Lifecare products support the daily lives of more than 10 million citizens. It belongs to Tieto, a technology company with annual revenue of about EUR 2 billion whose shares are listed on Nasdaq in Helsinki and Stockholm.
